A risk assessment is fundamental to any organisational risk management program and is a methodology used to identify, assess, and prioritise organisational risk.
It is always better to be proactive rather than reactive.

Risk assessments are intended to trigger a thought process to identify vulnerabilities and risks particular to your organisation and provide readiness for the various requirements you are facing.

A risk assessment should include:
• conducting a risk assessment survey
• identifying risks
• assessing the importance and likelihood of risks
• creating a risk management plan
• implementing that plan

Prior to deploying staff to new areas or posting staff to overseas offices, organisations or individuals may want accurate and detailed assessments of what the risk and vulnerabilities that they face in urban or rural settings.
