Richard Brussow
Richard has more than 20 years of experience in “violent crime investigation” while being a detective in the SAPS. During his time with the SAPS, he specialised in the investigation of hijack syndicates and their modus operandi.
In 1997 Richard was approached by BMW South Africa to develop a hijack prevention course and training material. BMW Advanced Driving came to light thereafter with Richard as co-founder. In 2001 Richard founded the NHPA and has since presented courses all over South Africa to enable motorists to prevent being hijacked and to demonstrate how to react during an attempted hijack. The need for this type of training has increased over recent years for obvious reasons. His involvement with the large vehicle tracking companies enables him to adjust his training material and keep abreast with the latest modus operandi of hijackers as well as hijacking “hot spots”. Richard is regularly seen on TV (e.g. Carte Blanche, eNCA) and many a radio listener knows him for the valuable information he shares during these interviews
(e.g. Jacaranda FM, Highveld, 702, Power FM, RSG, Cape FM).
Richard has been referred to as the “hijacking expert” of South Africa and his audiences enjoy his training sessions due to the way he conducts these presentations.
He is a dynamic speaker with a good sense of humor that keeps his audience relaxed and at ease.
